The proposed project is composed of 2.0 Ha greenhouse, 2.0 Ha Net-houses, 36.0 Ha open-field crops and 0.1 Ha Greenhouse seedlings nursery. All are irrigated with drip irrigation system, allow to grow year-round vegetables.
Total area the project need (gross area): 100 Ha, flat land.
Using the greenhouse agro-techniques production is feasible all year around. However, it is possible to set the main yield peak according to the commerce orientation, mainly to high-end domestic market clients such as hotels, restaurant and super markets.
As a part of the GH project planning, some alternatives of “crop combination” is possible. The project is estimate to produce annually 3,000 tons of vegetables: Tomatoes, Cherry tomatoes, Colored peppers, Eggplants, Chilies, Okro, Cabbage, Onions and Lettuce.
The total project budget investment is estimated in: 5,965,000 USD, CFR Lagos Port. The budget is based on Israeli made equipment of high quality, and meets the EU standards.
Production and Crop Plan
Modern intensive agriculture takes into consideration the needs of the plant and the wishes of the grower for maximization of his production. Controlled agriculture gives the ultimate solution for issues of “Good Agriculture Practice” (GAP) “Product Safety” and “Product Quality” weather to “Export Oriented Production” as well as for the Domestic markets.
The proposed project is composed of greenhouse units, a protected environment that gives a package of answers to the growing difficulties such as heavy showers. Using the greenhouse agro-techniques production is feasible all year around. However, it is possible to set the main yield peak according to the commerce orientation, export or local market. Actually, the desire to balance between the following elements, led to the above-mentioned solution:
- To demonstrate the feasibility of growing in GH high quality of various products;
- To maximize project yearly profit;
- To demonstrate various technologies, train local staff and make the staff familiar with marketing the various products to foreign and local markets;

The choice of crops was done according to the priorities of the market. The Vegetables and fruits will be of high-quality suitable for export and local market as well.
